Speaking Out .....Thoughts From

Rev. Tom Adams

It's The Best Time

"Don’t get the idea that aging is a total "downer". It has a definite "up" side and the pluses far outweigh the minuses."

The View From 70

"I suppose I am in the youth of my old age. I’m still young enough to have a lot to learn, yet, I’m old enough to have learned a few things. May I share a few of those lessons with you?

When Complainers Complain

"What if all of us resolved to go twenty-four straight hours without complaining? What if we all did it at once? We wouldn’t recognize our world!"

The Burdens Others Carry

"...everyone is bearing a burden of some sort. Indeed, we would be startled to know the load some folks carry. "

A Lift Up

"...everyone is bearing a burden of some sort. Indeed, we would be startled to know the load some folks carry. "

Activities Mania

"We tend to judge a person’s loyalty by the number of hours he spends inside the church building, the number of church jobs he holds, and the number of church activities in which he participates."

The Success Cult

"If temporal success is a criterion of divine blessing, then Paul must have been terribly backslidden."

Makes a Difference

"...when the pulpit and the pew close ranks and join forces under the endowment of the Holy Spirit, hitherto impregnable gates of hell collapse like papier-mâché."
